Understanding and Exploring AI

What is artificial intelligence already capable of today, and why do the right data matter so much for its results? KIMed will provide answers at Dresden’s Open Government District Day on 6 September 2026.

In keeping with this year’s focus on the “Medicine of the Future,” the Saxon State Government is inviting the public to learn more about the work of its ministries and funded research projects. KIMed will also be there with its own exhibition stand.

On the second floor of the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism, visitors can explore artificial intelligence in an entertaining way:

• Test your knowledge with the AI quiz: Where is AI already being used in medicine? What data are used to develop AI models? And how can medical data be protected? The quiz provides useful information and invites visitors to put their knowledge of AI and medicine to the test.
• Become an AI-generated subject with the “AI Error”: This interactive application playfully demonstrates how strongly the results of an AI system depend on the input data and the specific task it is given. Participants can have their photograph taken and then discover which natural motif the AI would assign their image to. In this way, the “AI Error” conveys an important message: unsuitable or incomplete inputs can lead to inaccurate and misleading results.

Our activities are intended as a starting point for conversation. The KIMed team will be happy to answer questions and discuss with visitors the opportunities AI offers for medicine and what people expect from the medicine of tomorrow.
