Shaping the KIMed Network Together
Innovations in Artificial Intelligence for medicine rarely emerge in isolation. They develop through the interaction of clinical practice, research, technology development, regulation, and economic implementation. The KIMed network brings these perspectives together and creates a structured framework for exchange, collaboration, and joint project development in Saxony and beyond.
By connecting different stakeholders, expertise is pooled, experience is shared, and new collaborations are enabled.
Driving Innovation Together
The KIMed network is currently under development. It aims to connect relevant stakeholders, data resources, and methodological expertise in the field of medical AI and to jointly establish sustainable structures.
In the initial project phase, the following activities are a particular focus:
- Establishing a registry of relevant data sources, tools, and projects within the KIMed Portal
- Developing concepts for data infrastructures that enable secure data processing and analysis, for example, through Secure Processing Environments (SPEs)
- Organising and delivering workshops, focus groups, and network meetings
- Developing joint use cases, training opportunities, and project ideas
Network partners are expressly invited to contribute their expertise, experience, and perspectives to the development of the network and to play an active role in shaping the process. Collaboration between the participating stakeholders is a central component of the project.
Benefits of Becoming a Network Partner
Participation in the KIMed network offers a wide range of benefits for partners:
Visibility and Connectivity
Presentation of your own activities, projects and expertise within the KIMed Portal, as well as connections to relevant initiatives and stakeholder groups.
Access to Innovative Infrastructures
Participation in the design and future use of a secure analysis environment (Secure Processing Environment – SPE) for privacy-compliant AI applications.
Networking and Project Development
Building new partnerships for research, development and innovation projects, including opportunities at national and European level.
Exchange of Best Practices
Insights into the experiences and approaches of other stakeholders, for example in process optimisation, the implementation of AI applications and the development of new business and project ideas.
Advice and Continuing Professional Development
Exchange and guidance on strategic, organisational and regulatory issues relating to medical AI (e.g. AI Act, Medical Device Regulation, Health Data Use Act).
