News | 26 November 2025

On November 25, 2025, the KIMed project team met with interested parties from clinical practice, research, and industry at the 1st KIMed Network Partner Forum at the Albertina Library in Leipzig to jointly explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence in medicine and develop potential collaborations.

The KIMed Network for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine connects data-holding institutions, methodological and technical partners, and users from various industries. The goal: to create a high-performance, trustworthy research environment and to specifically promote innovative AI solutions.

The first network meeting focused on getting to know one another personally and engaging in professional exchanges with stakeholders who are already working with AI at their institutions or plan to do so in the future. This provided an opportunity to establish valuable contacts for future projects.

These were the topics at the 1st Network Partner Forum:

  • Keynote address “From Data Silos to the Learning Hospital – Culture, Cooperation, and AI in the Smart Hospital?” with Dr. Anke Diehl, Chief Transformation Officer at Essen University Hospital
  • Presentation of the KIMed project and its scope
  • Keynote presentation by network partner SPRIND – Agency for Breakthrough Innovations. SPRIND promotes and funds the development of innovative technologies from academia and industry.

We would like to thank all participants for the enriching exchange!

The next KIMed Network Partner Forum will take place on April 30, 2026, in the Dülfersaal at the Technical University of Dresden.
